INJECTION MOLD TOOLING SERVICES
Plan your injection molding tooling around the resin, part drawing, demand and receiving machine. Review core and cavity design, trial samples and ownership before authorizing manufacture.
Define 3 approvals: your design, your trial evidence and your tool handover.
✓ Drawing revision agreed ✓ Trial scope defined ✓ Ownership documented

✓ Tool construction and interfaces ✓ Sample corrections and costs ✓ Maintenance and transfer records
Compare the tooling purpose first. Your drawing review defines the actual construction and included work.

For your design trial: agree the resin, sample quantity, critical fit and changes still expected.
Learn More
For your repeat supply: review cavity count, wear surfaces, cooling and a maintenance plan.
Learn More
For your part geometry: resolve parting, gating, side actions and ejection before cutting the tool.
Learn More
For your existing mold: review condition, machine compatibility, missing records and a new trial.
Learn MoreConcept images show review topics. Your approved specification controls the supplied mold.
A lower mold price helps only when the quoted tool, trial and handover scope match your program.
Use these items to compare a plastic injection mold maker on the same technical and commercial basis.

Use prototype injection molds for an agreed trial or limited supply need; confirm which production requirements the trial will establish.

Plan production injection molds for the approved resin, stable drawing and expected repeat demand.

Confirm insert material, datums, finish and verification before machining your custom injection molds.

Specify spare or interchangeable inserts where wear, damage or controlled design changes justify them.

Define the mold, agreed drawings, parts list, trial records, spares and shipping protection supplied to your team.
Agree the owner, required evidence and open actions at every milestone. Tooling manufacture, trial revisions and transit are separate schedule items.

Injection mold tooling services should define how your tool is built, accepted, stored and released—not just its initial manufacture.
Use these questions to define your purchase scope and acceptance. Your project review confirms price, schedule and feasibility.

Part CAD + drawing revision · Resin and application · Trial and annual quantity · Critical fits and finish · Receiving-machine details · Target date and delivery location
Injection mold tooling is the mold assembly used to form your plastic part: core, cavity, base and the agreed runner, cooling, ejection and moving components. The quotation should define design, build, trial and handover scope.
Send a STEP model or agreed native CAD, a controlled dimensioned drawing, resin grade, critical features and initial and annual demand. Add the receiving-machine details if the mold will run at your facility. Request an NDA before sharing confidential files.
Injection mold tooling cost depends on size, cavity count, steel or aluminum specification, slides, runner system, finish, trials and inspection. Request separate charges for the mold, sample parts, corrections, spares and freight; compare equivalent scopes rather than a universal price.
Ask for injection mold tooling lead time from the agreed design and order-release conditions. Separate design approval, manufacture, first trial, corrections, repeat trial and shipping. Required records and customer review time also affect the handover date.
Compare resin, geometry, finish, expected demand, wear and change requirements. Aluminum tooling can suit defined trial duties; steel tooling offers different construction and service options. Neither material alone guarantees a price, delivery date or tool life.
There is no one shot count for every mold. Resin abrasiveness, tool material and treatment, moving features, operating conditions and maintenance affect service life. Agree the expected duty, exclusions, wear parts and any contractual life requirement before ordering.
Tooling is the design, build and agreed trial of the mold. Injection molding is the production of parts using a mold. State whether you are purchasing a delivered mold, a mold retained for part production, or both, and separate the charges.
Supply the receiving-machine information before design approval. Review mounting, mold dimensions, opening, ejection, cooling and electrical interfaces, then agree shipping and a receiving trial. Tool transfer depends on compatibility and the agreed commercial terms.
Injection mold T1 samples document the first agreed trial. Compare them with the drawing, appearance sample and fit requirements, using cavity IDs and recorded conditions. T1 completion does not automatically approve the mold; close or disposition deviations first.
Confirm mold ownership, access to agreed drawings, file formats, maintenance and storage terms, and release conditions in writing. Clarify the treatment of purchased components, proprietary items and unpaid changes before manufacture.
A family injection mold may combine related parts, but their filling behavior and required quantities must be compatible. Compare balancing, trial acceptance, runner strategy and future product changes against separate molds.
Record each issue with the drawing revision, sample and cavity. Agree root-cause review, whether the correction is a tool issue or a product change, approval responsibility, charges and the next trial. Avoid unapproved cutting that limits later adjustment.
Share available tool drawings, fault photos, shot or service records, resin and recent trial observations. Agree inspection and dismantling scope before repairs. Confirm spare parts, correction approval and the revalidation needed to return the mold to use.
Agree the preservation, lifting and packing arrangement, inventory of spares, approved drawings, relevant trial and inspection records, maintenance guidance and delivery terms. State who performs the receiving inspection and machine trial.
Confirm the approved mold revision, accepted trial results, open-item disposition and handover inventory before tool release.
Design approval · Trial acceptance · Ownership and delivery agreement
A clear injection mold company quotation states the construction and evidence behind each choice. Review these fields without assuming one grade fits every mold.
Match the material to resin, demand and expected changes.
Record the supplier designation and agreed condition.
Confirm where treatment and verification are required.
Compare capacity assumptions and cavity-specific acceptance.
Include controls, gates and maintenance scope.
Use an agreed visual sample and inspection conditions.
Define replaceable components and supplied quantities.
List drawings, trials, inspection and care instructions.
